The Spay Iowa Spay/Neuter Program Network is a referral program that links communities to affordable spay/neuter and other targeted programs in their area. Spay Iowa is a state-wide program and is a member program of SPAYUSA’s nationwide network and referral service.
As of August 2009, Iowa Humane Alliance is managing the Spay Iowa Spay/Neuter Program Network.
Iowa Humane Alliance is forging partnerships and developing programs to reduce animal shelter admissions and end euthanasia as a form of population control. With over 70,000 surgeries to date, their goal is to promote and provide affordable, high-quality spay and neuter services for cats, dogs, and rabbits in order to end companion animal over-population in Eastern Iowa. SPAYUSA, a program of North Shore Animal League, is a nationwide network and referral service for affordable spay/neuter services. SPAYUSA's mission is to end the suffering of innocent dogs and cats by reducing the number of unwanted births. SPAYUSA provides referrals to over 1,900 low cost sterilization programs and clinics nationwide with 5,000 veterinarians in the network as of 2019. Their goal is to make spay/neuter services affordable to those who might not otherwise spay/neuter their pets. Please visit www.spayusa.org for more details.
